Ingrid has a degree in Clinical Psychology from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico and a Master of Science in Positive Psychology from the University of Jaén in Spain. In 2018 she did a research exchange at the University of Tours in France to work on a project to understand the cultural differences in children diagnosed with ASD (AutismSpectrum Disorder). Since then she has been working on issues related to developmental disorders and is co-author of a book on ASD and parenting. She has dedicated the last years to teaching, clinical practice and research.
Ingrid's current research is focused on understanding how emotional intelligence and social anxiety are related to autistic traits in children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and in children who don’t meet the criteria for diagnosis but exhibit a high degree of these traits in the general population. The project also aims to determine the influence of culture on the presence and intensity of these variables, so populations from different countries have been considered. Understanding how these factors relate to each other can contribute to designing more effective interventions.
