On March 27th, this year's Autism Week kicked off with the 15th National Autism Conference in Rotterdam. Janneke de Ruiter and Marieke Bos presented findings from our research project on high functioning children with autism (HF-ASD), in close collaboration with the Centre for Autism. Janneke showed that in boys with HF-ASD the relation between aggression and depression was mediated by victimization. Marieke presented work on the prospective relation between worry/rumination and the development of externalizing behavior problems. An association was found in boys with HF-ASD but not in their typically developing peers.
