Two of our papers on ASD have been accepted. The paper ‘Reactive/proactive aggression and affective/cognitive empathy in children with ASD’ will be published in Research in Developmental Disabilities. The outcomes of this study indicate that a combination of poor emotion regulation and impaired understanding of others’ emotions is associated with aggressive behaviour in children with ASD. The article ‘The link between emotion regulation, social functioning, and depression in boys with ASD’, which was accepted by Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, is about depression. Outcomes of the study described in this paper suggest that in some children with ASD, avoidance and disengagement from social situations contribute to fewer symptoms of depression.
