Thijs Jansen has finished his bachelor in psychology at Leiden University and continued as a master student in September 2017. His thesis, under the supervision of Evelien Broekhof, will focus on the influence of moral emotions on social competence and mental health in deaf and hard-of-hearing children/adolescents.
Tamara Lorenz started following the developmental track of the Research Master’s program in 2016. Since March 2017, she has been working as a research assistant for the lab, where she is involved in different projects. In June 2017, Tamara worked on a project in collaboration with the University of Evora, Lisbon. The project focused on children’s playground behavior as means of measuring their social competence, using an innovative measuring method based on radio frequency identification devices. Using the data from this project, Tamara will be continuing research in an internship at London’s UCL in September and October 2017. For her Master’s thesis, she will be focusing on playground behaviors of children with hearing impairments in particular.
Danique started her master Research Psychology, the developmental track, in 2016. She has been working as a research assistant for Prof. Dr. Rieffe since February 2017, participating in the special research projectwith UCL that is focused on autism in girls. Additionally, Danique is interested in emotional development in children with language impairments, which will be the focus for her master thesis.
Sjors Bootsman started studying the developmental track of the Research Master in 2016. He is active in our lab as a research assistant, helping ongoing projects. He is specifically interested in children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and will write his master thesis on this subject.
After finishing her Pre-Masters, Serena started her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology in September 2016. She is nowwriting her thesis on the validation of non-western translations of the EAQ. Serana does this under the supervision of Carolien and Paul Oosterveld, who has an expertise in multi-group analyses.
In September, 2016, Maaike started her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Supervised by Boya Li and Yung-Ting Tsou, she writes her thesis on emotion understanding in children with ASD. She also takes part in creating a new test battery.
Fenna is master student in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Leiden University, starting from September 2016. She is enthusiastic to contribute to the research field considering children. She will help with the data gathering of children with Language Impairment and write her thesis under supervision of Neeltje van den Bedem.
Joyce started her masters in School Psychology in September 2016 and is specifically interested in learning processes and all components involved. She will participate in the study on children with Language Impairment and its effect on social-emotional functioning. She will write her thesis under the supervision of Neeltje van den Bedem.
In September 2016, Thirza started her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology. At the moment, she is participating in the research-project of Carolien Rieffe, Boya Li and Naqi Dahamat Azam about agression in different cultures.
Claudia started her Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology in September 2016. She participates in the Leisure Project and writes her thesis under supervision of Carolien Rieffe and Anne Miers. She is enthusiastic to work with children and to contribute to the research field.
In September, 2016, Niels started his Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology. He participates in the Leisure Project and writes his thesis under supervision of Carolien Rieffe and Anne Miers.
